Who could imagine life without
jeans? Nobody, it seems, because the fact is that jeans are a part of our
everyday lives. They are worn by people of all ages, nationalities and both
genders. Everyone has grown up wearing jeans; even toddlers wear jeans.
Straight Leg Jeans - These are known as classic
jeans, for both men and women, and naturally have a timeless appeal. These are
good for almost all body types and can be seen in almost every wardrobe.
Jeans Til Kvinder simply means jeans for women and these garments have come a long way.
There was a time in history that women did not wear pants or trousers and only
men could wear them. But times have changed and so has fashion.
The Evolution of Jeans
Til Kvinder
Every woman has at least a few
pairs of jeans in her wardrobe. The word “jeans” is derived from the Americans,
and they were originally used as work trousers. The material used was cotton,
manufactured in Genoa, Italy.
It was the French, in their
attempt to copy the blue trouser material, who were able to manufacture the
denim material which eventually became the traditional material for jeans. In
1853, it was an American, Levi Strauss, who designed the first pants made of
the blue denim material. It was not until 1953 though that the first jeans for
women were created. They used to be called Girls 'Camping pants and were closed
with a zipper on the side as opposed to men's jeans which always had the zipper
at the front.
Today, women’s jeans have
certainly come a long way. There are various styles and designs for every
figure, height and personal preference.
From the farm to the streets to
special affairs, jeans have truly evolved and have managed to be treated with
respect. They are no longer simply required by workers, but they have become a
necessity that almost everyone cannot live without.
Types of Jeans for
Women
Jeans are categorized by cut
and fit, and there are many types of women’s jeans. The fact is that women and
jeans have this unique and fascinating love-hate kind of relationship. If you
are a woman and you love wearing jeans but the type of jeans you want to wear
doesn’t suit your body type, then you are not alone. A lot of women out there
are just like you.
In order to really have a good
relationship with jeans, every woman must accept that there are some types of
jeans which can complement their bodies and others which won’t.
Boot Cut Jeans - This type of
jeans is one of the best choices for women because they look good on almost all
body types, but they are especially perfect for those females with wider hips.
The cut of these jeans is narrow at the thighs and wide at the knees.
Skinny Jeans - These are the
kind of jeans that always look fabulous on those women whose legs seem to never
end. So, naturally you see these jeans being sported by those tall, long-legged
models. If you are on the chubby side, skinny jeans should not be a part of
your wardrobe because you are simply not going to look good in these pants.
