It’s really hard to get excited about new television shows when so many are getting snuffed out of existence before they even have a chance to develop. However, there are still a few programs coming out this fall that have us interested enough to talk about them. So if you get your television programming through directstartv.com, you’re in luck.
Here are three new shows coming out this fall:
Revolution – NBC – September 17, 2012
This action drama centers on a group of people struggling to survive in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to be. What you ultimately have is a radical view of the world where people lapse back into feudal systems and the crossbow is the new gun. We want to be excited about this program because of the ambitious premise, but it seems like it’s trying to “out-LOST” LOST and we all know what happens to shows like those.
666 Park Avenue – ABC – September 30, 2012
Based on the book by the same name, this series follows a young couple who become the managers of a historical apartment. As the series progresses, the couple starts to experience a truly demonic presence. It’s hard not to be intrigued by all the possibilities this series presents and, with the success of American Horror Show (another horror-themed series), this show could have a shot. They just need to make sure the number of unanswered questions doesn’t completely overwhelm the amount answered.
Hannibal – NBC – TBA
This contemporary take on the notorious serial killer/cannibal promises to be an intriguing venture. It also begs to ask if anyone can top Mr. Anthony Hopkins when it comes to playing a cannibalistic psychopath. According to descriptions of the premise, the show will center on the relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (protagonist of Red Dragon) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter. What we might be looking at is a real twist on the done-to-death crime procedural serial. One can only hope.
